Description
Mixed Bed DI Resin is a blend of strong acid cation and strong base anion ion-exchange resins in the regenerated hydrogen and hydroxide forms. When water passes through it, the cation resin swaps positive ions for hydrogen and the anion resin swaps negative ions for hydroxide, which combine to form pure water. The result is deionised water with very low conductivity, far purer than RO alone.
It is supplied ready to use in 25-litre bags, often with a colour-indicating component that changes colour as the resin exhausts.

Why polish after RO?

Use and replacement
Load the resin into a DI vessel or cartridge housing and monitor outlet conductivity with a meter. When conductivity rises above your limit, or the indicator colour changes through most of the bed, replace the resin. Can I feed tap water directly? You can, but the resin exhausts quickly on high-TDS water. RO first is far more economical.
