Description
The Chemical Dosing Pump Emec 5 L/h is an electromagnetic (solenoid) metering pump made in Italy by Emec, one of the brands we prefer for chemical dosing. It injects precise, adjustable amounts of liquid chemical into a water line, at up to around 5 litres per hour. Typical uses include chlorine dosing for disinfection, antiscalant dosing before RO membranes, pH correction, and corrosion inhibitor dosing for cooling and boiler systems.

How it works
An electromagnet drives a PTFE diaphragm back and forth. Each stroke draws chemical through the suction valve and pushes a fixed volume out through the delivery valve into the injection point. Output is adjusted by changing the stroke frequency, and on many models it can follow a water meter pulse or a 4–20 mA signal, so dosing rises and falls with flow.

Maintenance
Check the injection valve and foot valve every few months for blockage, and replace diaphragms and valve seals on a yearly schedule or as advised for your chemical. Flush with clean water before long shutdowns.
