Description
The 6-Stage RO System with Mineral Cartridge is an under-sink drinking water purifier for homes and small offices in Oman. It removes dissolved salts, chlorine, sediment and most contaminants through reverse osmosis, then passes the water through an alkaline mineral cartridge to add back a small amount of calcium and magnesium. The result is clean, fresh-tasting water straight from a dedicated tap in your kitchen.

How the 6-Stage RO System works
Each stage has one job:
- Sediment filter (5 micron) – traps sand, rust and silt from the supply or storage tank.
- GAC carbon filter – reduces chlorine, odour and organic compounds.
- CTO carbon block – a second, finer carbon stage that protects the membrane from chlorine.
- RO membrane – removes dissolved salts (TDS), heavy metals, nitrates and microorganisms.
- Post carbon filter – polishes taste after the storage tank.
- Alkaline mineral cartridge – adds minerals and lifts the pH of the purified water.
Why add a mineral stage?
Reverse osmosis water is very low in minerals, and some people find the taste flat. The mineral cartridge adds a measured amount of calcium and magnesium so the water tastes closer to good-quality bottled water. It also raises the pH slightly, which many customers prefer for drinking, tea and coffee.

Maintenance
Pre-filters are normally changed every 6 to 12 months, the post carbon and mineral cartridges every 12 months, and the RO membrane every 2 to 3 years, depending on water quality and use. Frequently asked questions
Can it treat tanker water? Yes. Most tanker water in Muscat is within the range a residential RO membrane can handle. If the TDS is very high, we will recommend a higher-rated membrane or pretreatment.
How much water does it produce? Enough for drinking and cooking for a typical family. The storage tank keeps several litres ready, and the system refills it automatically.
Does it need electricity? Only if a booster pump is fitted. Sites with good mains pressure can run without power.
Is the mineral cartridge safe? Yes. It uses food-grade mineral media designed for drinking water and is replaced once a year.
