Description

Container Mounted RO Plant built inside a shipping container by FARZ Water Oman

A Container Mounted RO Plant is a complete water treatment system built, piped, wired and tested inside a shipping container, then delivered to site ready to connect. FARZ Water builds containerised brackish and seawater plants from 5,000 to 200,000 litres per day for construction camps, mining and oil sites, emergency supply, remote communities and any project where a civil plant room is not worth building.

Why Containerise a Water Treatment Plant

Three reasons, and they are practical rather than technical. First, the build happens in a workshop, not on a windy site two hours from Muscat, so the piping and wiring are better and the commissioning is faster. Second, the plant arrives as one lift: a crane sets it down, you connect feed, power and product lines, and it runs. Third, it moves. A container mounted RO plant follows the project from one camp to the next, which is why contractors keep buying them instead of writing off a fixed plant at the end of a job.

Where a Container Mounted RO Plant Makes Sense

Construction and infrastructure camps use them for potable supply across a two or three year job, then move them. Mining and quarry operations in the interior use them on saline boreholes. Oil and gas sites use them where a permanent structure would need approvals that outlast the project. Emergency and disaster supply agencies keep them ready to deploy. Remote communities and island facilities use them where shipping a container is simpler than shipping a construction crew. Fish farms and agricultural projects on undeveloped land use them as the first utility on site.

Build, Delivery, Installation and Service

FARZ Water designs the plant around your water analysis and demand, builds it in the workshop, wet-tests it, and delivers to site anywhere in the Sultanate. Site work is limited to placing the container, connecting feed, power and product lines, and routing the reject. Commissioning covers membrane flush, dosing calibration and a witnessed performance test with results on the handover certificate, plus operator training. One-year warranty on pump, panel and skid; membranes and media under manufacturer terms. Spares are held in Muscat and the containerised layout is documented so a technician who has never seen that unit can service it. Frequently Asked Questions

What lead time should I allow?

Six to ten weeks for a standard brackish build, longer for seawater or where a generator compartment is included. We confirm against current membrane and container availability at quotation.

Does the container need a foundation?

A level compacted base or simple concrete pads under the corner castings is enough. No plant room, no roof, no block work.

How does it handle summer heat?

Insulation plus a split unit or ducted ventilation, sized so the panel and dosing chemicals stay within their rated range. This is not optional in Oman and we quote it as standard.

Can an existing plant be containerised?

Often yes, if the equipment is sound and the capacity still fits. We survey the plant first and tell you honestly whether relocating it beats a new build.

Product water is designed against Oman Standard OS 8 and the WHO guidelines for drinking-water quality. Send your site location, water analysis and daily demand to FARZ Water in Muscat for a sized proposal.

How We Size a Container Mounted RO Plant

Container size follows the plant, not the other way round. We start from daily demand, feed analysis and whether product storage and a generator need to sit inside, then pick 10, 20 or 40 foot. Cramming a container mounted RO plant into a smaller box to save on freight is a false economy: service access disappears, and the first membrane change takes a day instead of an hour. Send your demand and site constraints and we will show the layout before the price.
