Description
The Water Softener 1054 is an automatic whole-house softener built around a 10 x 54 inch fibreglass (FRP) resin vessel, a digital control valve and a separate brine tank. It removes calcium and magnesium hardness from the incoming supply, which is what causes white scale on taps, shower glass, water heaters and washing machines in many Omani homes.
It is the size we most often recommend for a medium villa or a large apartment with 3 to 5 bathrooms.
How the Water Softener 1054 works
Hard water passes through the resin bed inside the vessel. The resin swaps calcium and magnesium ions for sodium ions, so the water leaving the softener no longer forms scale.
When the resin is loaded, the control valve starts a regeneration cycle: it backwashes the bed, draws salt brine from the brine tank, rinses and returns to service. Regeneration can be set by time or by metered volume, so salt is only used when it is needed.

Where it is used in Oman
Hardness levels in Muscat vary by area and by source. Tanker water and well water are often much harder than the municipal supply. The Water Softener 1054 suits villas in Al Mawaleh, Al Khoud, Bausher, Al Amerat and similar areas where scale on fixtures and heater elements is a regular problem. It is also used ahead of RO drinking water systems to protect the membrane.

Installation and maintenance
We install the softener on the main line after the pump, with a bypass, a drain point for regeneration water and space for salt top-ups. Most installations take a few hours.
