Description
The Water Softener 1354 is an automatic whole-house water softener built on a 13 x 54 inch fibreglass (FRP) resin vessel. It removes the calcium and magnesium hardness that leaves white scale on taps, shower glass, tiles, water heaters and appliances. With a larger resin bed than our 1054 model, it handles higher flow and more daily consumption.
It is the model we usually recommend for large villas with 5 to 8 bathrooms, or homes with a pool shower area, garden taps and several water heaters.
How the Water Softener 1354 works
Water flows through the resin bed, where ion exchange swaps hardness minerals for sodium. When the resin is loaded, the control valve runs an automatic regeneration: backwash, brine draw from the salt tank, slow rinse, fast rinse and refill. Metered regeneration means the softener only regenerates when it has treated a set volume of water, which saves salt and water.

Installation
We install the Water Softener 1354 on the main supply after the pump, with a bypass, drain connection for regeneration water and easy access for salt filling. We set the regeneration programme to match your measured hardness and household size, then test the treated water before handover.
Maintenance
Keep the brine tank topped up with softener salt and book a yearly service. During the service we check the valve settings, clean the injector and brine line, and test hardness at the outlet. How often do I add salt? It depends on hardness and use. Most large villas add salt every few weeks.
Is softened water safe to drink? Softened water is generally fine for washing and bathing. For drinking we recommend an RO system at the kitchen tap.
Can the Water Softener 1354 run without power? The control valve needs a standard power socket.
