Description
The UV Water Sterilizer 25 GPM is a high-flow ultraviolet disinfection unit for whole-house and light commercial use. With a rated flow of around 25 US gallons per minute (about 5.7 m³/h), it treats the full supply of a large villa, a small building, a restaurant or a clinic. UV-C light inactivates bacteria, viruses and cysts as water passes through the stainless steel chamber, without adding any chemicals.
It is often the last stage in a complete treatment train after sediment and carbon filtration.
Where the UV Water Sterilizer 25 GPM is used
- Large villas with high simultaneous demand from several bathrooms
- Apartment buildings with a shared storage tank
- Restaurants, cafés and central kitchens
- Clinics, schools and offices
- Farms and camps using well water
In Oman, water is commonly stored in tanks that warm up in summer. Warm, stored water is ideal for bacterial growth, which is why UV disinfection after storage is a sensible safeguard.

How it works
Inside the chamber, a high-output UV-C lamp runs inside a quartz sleeve. Water flows around the sleeve and receives a germicidal dose at 254 nm, which damages the DNA of microorganisms so they cannot reproduce. The controller monitors the lamp and alerts you when it fails or reaches end of life. Because UV needs clear water to work properly, we install sediment and carbon filters ahead of it.
Key features
- Stainless steel 304 reactor chamber
- High-output UV-C lamp with quartz sleeve
- Electronic controller with lamp-life display and alarm
- 1-inch inlet and outlet for full-flow installation
- Wall or skid mounting

Sizing UV correctly
A UV unit must be sized to the peak flow, not the average. If water passes faster than the rated flow, the UV dose drops and disinfection is not guaranteed. We check pump capacity and peak demand before recommending the UV Water Sterilizer 25 GPM, and suggest a smaller or larger unit if needed. See all sizes in our UV sterilizers range.
Maintenance
Replace the UV lamp every 12 months, clean the quartz sleeve at the same visit, and change pre-filter cartridges every 3 to 6 months. Hard water can coat the sleeve, so a softener before the UV is helpful in many Omani homes. For more background, read about ultraviolet germicidal irradiation.
Frequently asked questions
Does UV change the taste of water? No. UV adds nothing to the water.
Is UV enough on its own? UV disinfects but does not remove sediment, chlorine, hardness or dissolved salts. It works best as part of a complete system.
Do you offer service contracts? Yes, Farz Water offers annual maintenance contracts for UV systems.
