Description
The Stainless Steel UV Chamber is a heavy-duty ultraviolet reactor for commercial and industrial water disinfection. Built from polished stainless steel with flanged or threaded connections, it is designed for continuous duty on the main line of hotels, hospitals, food and beverage plants, bottling lines and RO plants. Water passes through the chamber and is exposed to high-intensity UV-C light that inactivates bacteria, viruses and protozoa without chemicals.
Farz Water supplies the Stainless Steel UV Chamber as a stand-alone unit or as part of a complete treatment skid.
Where it is used
- Post-treatment after commercial and industrial RO plants
- Hotel and hospital water supply lines
- Food, beverage and ice production
- Bottled water and water refill stations
- Process water and rinse water in factories
- Labour camps and farms using well water

Construction and design
The chamber is made from stainless steel 304 or 316L, with an electropolished interior that reflects UV light and resists corrosion. One or more UV-C lamps run inside high-purity quartz sleeves along the length of the reactor. A sight port lets operators check the lamp, and a drain port allows the chamber to be emptied for service. The control panel monitors each lamp, counts operating hours and raises an alarm if a lamp fails.
Key features of the Stainless Steel UV Chamber
- SS304 or SS316L reactor, internally polished
- High-output or amalgam UV-C lamps at 254 nm
- Quartz sleeves with O-ring seals
- Control panel with lamp status, hour meter and alarm
- Optional UV intensity sensor and solenoid shut-off
- Flanged or threaded connections to suit the pipeline
Typical specifications
| Material | Stainless steel 304 / 316L |
| Flow range | From approx. 2 to 50+ m³/h (model dependent) |
| Lamp type | High-output or amalgam UV-C |
| Max pressure | Typically 8–10 bar |
| Power | 220–240 V single phase |
We select chamber size, number of lamps and UV dose based on the flow rate, water quality (UV transmittance) and the application.
Sizing for Oman sites
UV dose depends on flow rate, lamp power and how clear the water is. Water from wells and tankers can carry iron, hardness or turbidity that reduce UV transmission. For that reason we check water analysis and install the right pre-treatment, such as sediment filters, softeners or RO, before the chamber. See related units in our UV sterilizers range and our commercial and industrial RO plants.
Maintenance
Lamps are typically replaced every 9,000 to 12,000 hours depending on type. Quartz sleeves are cleaned at every lamp change, or more often on hard water. Farz Water offers annual maintenance contracts that include lamp replacement, sleeve cleaning and controller checks. For background on UV disinfection, see Wikipedia.
Frequently asked questions
Is SS316 better than SS304? SS316L has better corrosion resistance and is preferred for food, pharmaceutical and higher-chloride water.
Can you supply spare lamps and sleeves? Yes, we stock common UV lamps and quartz sleeves in Muscat.
