Description

Commercial RO Plant 250-500 LPH reverse osmosis system from FARZ Water Oman

The Commercial RO Plant from FARZ Water is a 250 to 500 litres-per-hour reverse osmosis system built for restaurants, cafes, labour accommodations, schools and small factories across Oman. It takes high-TDS municipal or tanker water and produces consistent low-TDS drinking water all day, without the recurring cost and handling of bottled supply.

Why a Commercial RO Plant Makes Sense in Oman

Feed water in most parts of the Sultanate runs between 800 and 2,500 ppm TDS, and coastal boreholes go higher. At those levels cartridge filters and UV alone cannot bring water down to drinking quality. A commercial RO plant uses a semi-permeable membrane at 8 to 12 bar to strip dissolved salts, nitrates and hardness, typically cutting TDS by 95 to 98 percent. For a site consuming 300 to 1,000 litres of drinking water a day, an in-house plant pays for itself against bottled water within the first year and removes the daily logistics of deliveries and empty bottles.

Who Uses a 250 to 500 LPH Commercial RO Plant

This size band covers most small and mid-size commercial sites. Restaurants and coffee shops use it to feed drinking taps, ice makers and espresso machines, where scale on the boiler is the main failure point. Labour accommodations of 50 to 200 people use it as the central drinking water source. Schools and clinics use it ahead of a UV sterilizer for point-of-use taps. Small production units, from bakeries to cosmetics workshops, use it as process water. If your daily demand is above 1,500 litres, step up to a 1,000 LPH unit instead. Our team sizes the plant from your water analysis and peak-hour demand rather than from a catalogue number.

Installation, Service and Warranty

FARZ Water supplies, installs and commissions the plant anywhere in Oman. Commissioning includes a feed water analysis, membrane flush, dosing calibration and a handover report with the permeate TDS recorded on site. The plant carries a one-year warranty on the pump and electrical panel, and we stock membranes, cartridges, pumps and antiscalant locally so a service call does not wait on an import. Annual maintenance contracts cover quarterly cartridge changes, membrane cleaning and TDS verification. See our full range of commercial and industrial water treatment systems for pre-treatment filters, softeners and UV sterilizers that pair with this plant.

Frequently Asked Questions

What TDS will the output water be?

With feed water at 1,500 ppm, permeate typically reads 30 to 70 ppm. The exact figure depends on feed TDS, temperature and membrane age, and is recorded in your commissioning report.

How much water does it waste?

At 50 to 60 percent recovery, roughly 0.7 to 1 litre of reject per litre of product water. The reject stream is clean enough for landscape irrigation or tank flushing on most sites.

How often do the membranes need replacing?

Two to three years with correct pre-treatment and antiscalant dosing. Cartridges are changed every three months, more often on tanker-fed sites.

Does it need a storage tank?

Yes. The plant fills a food-grade storage tank fitted with a level switch, and a booster pump feeds the taps. We size the tank at roughly half the daily demand.

Drinking water quality targets used in this specification follow the WHO guidelines for drinking-water quality alongside Oman Standard OS 8. For a quotation on a commercial RO plant sized to your site, contact FARZ Water in Muscat.
