Description
The RO Membrane 400 GPD is a high-flow residential reverse osmosis element designed for tankless and direct-flow RO purifiers. Instead of slowly filling a storage tank, these systems purify water on demand when you open the tap. That needs a larger membrane with much higher output than a standard 75 GPD element. The 400 GPD membrane provides that flow while still removing dissolved salts, heavy metals and microorganisms.
Where the RO Membrane 400 GPD is used
- Tankless under-sink RO purifiers rated around 400 GPD
- High-flow RO systems with a booster pump
- Small offices, clinics and cafés needing fast drinking water
- Upgrading older systems for higher daily output
Membrane housings for 400 GPD elements are larger than standard 1812 housings, and many tankless purifiers use a proprietary cartridge. Send us your purifier model or a photo of the old membrane so we can confirm the correct replacement.

Key features
- Thin-film composite polyamide membrane
- High rated output of around 400 gallons per day (approx. 1,500 L/day)
- Designed for pump-assisted, direct-flow systems
- High salt rejection when operated at the rated pressure
- Available in standard element and cartridge formats

Performance in Oman
Output depends on feed water temperature, pressure and TDS. In summer, warmer water increases flow; in winter it drops slightly. Higher TDS tanker water reduces output and increases the load on the membrane. A correctly matched RO Membrane 400 GPD and pump gives fast flow without sacrificing water quality. Replacement interval
Most high-flow membranes last 2 to 3 years with regular pre-filter changes. Replace when TDS at the tap rises or flow drops noticeably. Always replace the composite or carbon pre-filter at the same time, since chlorine destroys RO membranes. Learn more about reverse osmosis on Wikipedia.
Frequently asked questions
Can I put a 400 GPD membrane in my old 75 GPD system? Not directly. It needs a larger housing, a pump and a matching flow restrictor.
Will it waste more water? Modern high-flow systems are usually more efficient than older tank systems, with better recovery.
Can you fit it for me? Yes, our technicians replace membranes across Muscat.
