Description
The Big Blue Filter Housing is a heavy-duty 20-inch housing designed for whole-house and light commercial water filtration. Its wide 4.5-inch bowl takes jumbo cartridges with several times the dirt capacity of slim 10-inch filters, and the 1-inch ports keep flow high for villas, buildings and small businesses. It is the standard point-of-entry filter we install after the pump in homes across Oman.
Why use a Big Blue Filter Housing?
Water stored in tanks and delivered by tanker in Muscat often carries sand, rust and silt. Slim under-sink filters cannot handle full-house flow or this much dirt. A big blue housing filters all the water entering the house, protecting water heaters, mixers, washing machines, softeners and UV systems. Fit two or three in series for sediment and carbon stages.

Installation tips
Install the Big Blue Filter Housing on the main line after the pump, in shade, with isolation valves on both sides and a bypass for servicing. Leave enough space below the bowl to remove the 20-inch cartridge. Adding a pressure gauge before and after the housing shows when the cartridge is blocked. For more on filtration, see Wikipedia.

Will a slim 20-inch cartridge fit? No. Big blue housings take 4.5-inch diameter jumbo cartridges only.
Can it be installed outdoors? Yes, if shaded from direct sun. UV light degrades plastic over time.
