Description
The Ceramic Membrane Home Purifier uses flat-sheet ceramic membranes, a robust inorganic filter material with very fine, uniform pores. Ceramic filters physically block bacteria, cysts, rust and sediment, and because ceramic is extremely hard and chemically stable, the membrane can be cleaned by backflushing or brushing and reused for a long time. A carbon stage is typically included for chlorine, taste and odour.
Advantages of ceramic membranes
- Very long service life compared with polymer membranes
- Cleanable and reusable
- Resistant to high temperatures and chemicals
- No electricity needed
- No reject water
- Natural minerals retained

Limitations to know
Like ultrafiltration, a Ceramic Membrane Home Purifier does not remove dissolved salts, hardness or nitrates. It is ideal for improving clarity and microbiological safety of low-TDS network water, especially from storage tanks. For high-TDS tanker or well water, a reverse osmosis system is the right choice.
Typical specifications
| Membrane | Flat-sheet ceramic |
| Additional stages | Sediment / carbon (model dependent) |
| Power | None |
| Waste water | None in normal use |
| Installation | Under-sink or countertop |
Maintenance
Clean the ceramic element when flow drops, by backflushing or gentle brushing as instructed, and replace the carbon stage every 6 to 12 months. With care, the ceramic element can last several years. Compare with other options in our ultrafiltration systems range. For background on ceramic filters, see Wikipedia.
Frequently asked questions
Will it make tanker water taste better? It improves clarity and removes particles, but salty or mineral taste needs RO.
Can I clean it myself? Yes, we show you how during installation.
