Description
The FRP Pressure Vessel 1054 is a fibreglass-reinforced plastic tank, 10 inches in diameter and 54 inches tall, used to hold media in water treatment systems. It has a seamless polyethylene inner liner wrapped in fibreglass and resin, giving a strong, corrosion-proof vessel that will not rust in Oman’s humid, salty conditions. The 2.5-inch top opening accepts all standard control valves and distributor systems.
It is the most common vessel size for villa water softeners and residential media filters.

Construction
The vessel has a blow-moulded polyethylene liner that is the only material in contact with water. Around it, continuous glass fibre filament is wound under tension and bonded with resin, giving high burst strength. A moulded base keeps it stable on the floor. Unlike steel tanks, FRP vessels do not corrode, need no painting and are much lighter to transport and install.

Building a system with the FRP Pressure Vessel 1054
A complete unit needs the vessel, a control valve (manual or automatic), a riser tube and bottom distributor, gravel underbed where required, and the treatment media. Service flow guide
As a general guide, a 1054 vessel suits service flows of roughly 1 to 2 m³/h depending on media type. Softeners can run at the higher end; carbon and multimedia filters need lower flow for enough contact time. We size each application individually. For more on pressure vessels, see Wikipedia.
