Description
The Inline Post Carbon Filter is the final taste-polishing stage in a home reverse osmosis system. Often called a T33 filter, it sits between the RO storage tank and the faucet. As purified water leaves the tank, it passes through a bed of coconut-shell activated carbon that removes any stale taste or odour picked up while the water was stored.
It is the small cartridge that makes the biggest difference to how your RO water tastes.
Why the Inline Post Carbon Filter matters
RO water is stored in a pressure tank that has a rubber bladder inside. Over time, especially in warm kitchen cabinets in Oman, water sitting in the tank can develop a flat or rubbery taste. The post carbon stage removes this and gives fresh, clean-tasting water at the tap. When customers tell us their RO water “tastes strange”, a tired post carbon filter is the most common cause.

Compatible systems
The Inline Post Carbon Filter fits most 5, 6 and 7-stage home RO systems, including the models we sell and many other brands found in Oman. It can also be used as a simple inline taste filter for fridges, ice makers and water dispensers. If your RO also has an alkaline mineral stage, the post carbon usually goes before it. - Open the valves and flush a few litres through the faucet.
Change it every 6 to 12 months. Read more about how carbon works on Wikipedia.
Frequently asked questions
Is it the same as stage 2 carbon? No. Stage 2 removes chlorine before the membrane. The post carbon polishes taste after the tank.
Why is the first water cloudy? Trapped air and carbon fines. Flush for a minute and it clears.
Can you replace it for me? Yes, our technicians replace RO filter sets across Muscat.
