Description
The RO Membrane 50 GPD from Dupont Filmtec is a residential thin-film composite reverse osmosis element in the standard 1812 size. It is the heart of a home RO system: the stage that removes dissolved salts, heavy metals, nitrates, fluoride and microorganisms, producing clean drinking water from municipal or tanker supply. Dupont Filmtec membranes are our preferred brand because of their consistent salt rejection and long service life.
A 50 GPD element suits small families, apartments and RO systems with a storage tank.
Why choose a genuine Dupont Filmtec RO Membrane 50 GPD?
The market in Oman has many low-cost membranes with optimistic ratings. A weak membrane lets more salt through and fouls faster, which means poorer water and earlier replacement. Dupont Filmtec elements are manufactured to tight tolerances and tested for flow and rejection, so you get the water quality you expect. We supply genuine elements through established distribution channels.

Key features
- Thin-film composite (TFC) polyamide membrane
- Standard 1812 size, fits most home RO housings
- Rated permeate flow around 50 gallons per day at test conditions
- High stabilised salt rejection (typically around 98% at test conditions)
- Pre-installed brine seal
Typical specifications
| Brand | Dupont Filmtec |
| Size | 1812 (approx. 1.8″ x 12″) |
| Rated flow | 50 GPD (approx. 190 L/day) at test conditions |
| Membrane type | TFC polyamide |
| Max feed temperature | 45 °C |
| Max chlorine | Not tolerant – carbon pre-filtration required |
Actual output depends on feed water pressure, temperature and TDS. Please refer to the manufacturer datasheet for full test conditions.
When to replace your RO membrane
Most home membranes in Oman last 2 to 3 years with regular pre-filter changes. Signs it is time for a new RO Membrane 50 GPD include rising TDS at the RO tap, slower tank filling, or a change in taste. Our technicians can test your RO output TDS and replace the membrane during a service visit. See other sizes in our RO membranes range.
Protect your membrane
Change sediment and carbon pre-filters every 6 months. Chlorine damages TFC membranes permanently, and sediment fouls the surface. On low-pressure supplies, a booster pump keeps the membrane working efficiently. For more on how RO works, see Wikipedia.
Frequently asked questions
Will a 50 GPD membrane fit my system? If your housing takes an 1812 element, yes. Check your flow restrictor matches the membrane rating.
Can I upgrade to 75 GPD? Yes, with the matching flow restrictor. Ask us to confirm compatibility.
