Description
The RO Membrane 75 GPD from Dupont Filmtec is the standard replacement membrane for most 5, 6 and 7-stage home reverse osmosis systems. In the common 1812 size, it removes dissolved salts, heavy metals, nitrates, fluoride and microorganisms, producing clean, great-tasting drinking water from municipal, tank or tanker supply. It is the membrane we fit most often during RO service visits in Muscat.
A 75 GPD element gives a good balance of output and salt rejection for families of four to six.

Getting the most from your membrane
Replace sediment and carbon pre-filters on time, because chlorine and dirt are the main causes of early membrane failure. Make sure the flow restrictor matches the 75 GPD rating, and add a booster pump if your supply pressure is below about 40 psi. For background on reverse osmosis, see Wikipedia.
