Description
The Solenoid Valve for RO 24V is an electrically operated inlet valve used in home RO systems with a booster pump. It sits on the feed water line before the membrane. When the system is making water, the valve opens; when the high pressure switch signals that the tank is full, the pump stops and the valve closes. This prevents water from flowing through the membrane and down the drain while the system is idle.
Signs of a faulty solenoid valve
- Water keeps running to drain when the system is off
- No water entering the system even though the pump hums
- Clicking or buzzing from the valve coil
- Leaks around the valve body

Key features
- 24V DC coil, matches standard RO pump transformers
- Normally closed: shuts off when power is removed
- 1/4 inch push-fit or threaded ports
- Food-grade plastic body
- Spade terminals for easy wiring

Wiring and installation
The Solenoid Valve for RO is wired in parallel with the booster pump, so both switch on and off together through the high and low pressure switches. Install it on the feed line after the pre-filters, following the arrow on the body for flow direction. Our technicians can diagnose and replace valves during RO service visits in Muscat. See related parts in RO spare parts and accessories, including pumps and pressure switches. For background on solenoid valves, see Wikipedia.
Frequently asked questions
Do non-pumped systems need one? No, they use a hydraulic automatic shut-off valve instead.
Can I use a 220V valve? Only if your system is designed for it. Most home RO systems use 24V.
